Scene 11: Narrative Reporting.

When Deanna used her chem-plate to dissolve the four substances, she created an oral-drawn-written narrative to describe her results (Shepardson and Britsch, 2001, p. 54; see figure 3.10). She related her findings to a context inhabited by an animal character—a duck—that you’d find outdoors where sand and soil more naturally occur.

An oral narrative accompanied her graphic product (Britsch, 2001b, p. 102):

She doesn’t like that dirt mixing up with the sand between her toes because it’s too messy and it’s dissolving.
